About us

We believe the health of people and the health of the planet are one system.

The PurEarth Foundation exists to restore both together, starting with the essentials every community needs: clean water, clean energy, and nourishing food.

Our mission

To restore the health of the planet and humanity by helping communities build self-sustaining systems for clean energy, clean water, nourishing food, and lasting well-being.

Our vision

A world where healthy environments sustain healthy people, in every community.

Our belief

We are not separate from nature. We are nature, experiencing itself. To restore the Earth is to restore ourselves.

Our story

It began with a question about what makes things grow.

PurEarth began in agriculture, with a simple observation: crops grown in healthy conditions are stronger and more resilient. The next question came quickly. If that is true for a plant, what does it mean for a person, a family, a town?

The answer pointed beyond any single farm or business. A community’s health is shaped by the water it drinks, the power that keeps its clinic open, the food on its tables, and the opportunities that keep its young people home. Fixing one while ignoring the others rarely lasts.

The PurEarth Foundation was created to work on the whole system, alongside the communities who live in it. The Sovereign Loop is how we do it.

Our values

What guides us.

Stewardship

We care for land, water, and the trust placed in us as if all three were borrowed. Because they are.

Community first

Solutions are designed with the people who will live with them.

Whole-system thinking

No part of the loop stands alone, and neither do we.

Honesty and evidence

We measure, we report, and we say so when something doesn’t work.

Dignity and partnership

Long-term partners, never one-time fixes.

Built for generations

Decisions measured in generations, not quarters.

Our role

What the Foundation does, and what it doesn’t.

Plan

We help communities assess their needs and design a Sovereign Loop that fits their land, climate, and priorities.

Deliver

We lead charitable initiatives in planning, education, community health, access, and research.

Convene

We bring public partners, humanitarian funders, and private partners together around each project.

Share

We measure results and publish what we learn.

What we don’t do: the Foundation doesn’t own or operate the companies that build Loop infrastructure. We work alongside them, in clearly defined roles.

How we’re structured

Clear lines, by design.

The PurEarth Foundation
A nonprofit organization that leads charitable initiatives and convenes partnerships.
PurEarth and PurHealth
Independent, for-profit sister companies that share our mission and partner with us on specific initiatives.
The Stichting Chardet Foundation
Our humanitarian partner, based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Public partners
Governments that set public priorities and may own public infrastructure.
Communities
The people who shape each Loop and live with its results.

Charitable funds are used only for charitable purposes. As we finalize our structure, we are committed to being open about how funds are used, and about any connection between our leadership and our partners.

Accountability

Trust is earned in the open.

1

Governance.

We are building a board and the policies to go with it, designed to keep the Foundation’s decisions independent, including how we handle any connection to a sister company.

2

Related parties.

Where a sister company takes part in a Foundation initiative, we intend to say so, and to make sure the terms are fair.

3

Capital policy.

We will publish our approach to grants, loans, and any investment once our structure is final.

4

Financials.

Our annual report and required filings will be published here as they become available.

5

Public profile.

We will list the Foundation on Candid (GuideStar) once our nonprofit status is established.
